1988 Mason 44
Yacht price :
Overview
Journey is one of the nicest Mason's I have been aboard. She has been continually upgraded throughout her life with three owners. The most recent owners have prepared her for extended cruising. Over the last 4 years Journey has been Yard maintained and has been stored indoors during the last four winters. All exterior varnish is in above average condition. The owner has either replaced or re-built much of the major systems as to prepare her for long distance cruising. This is a "must see" Mason 44!

AccommodationsEntering the cabin via the teak companionway offset to port you will find the owners aft stateroom. This cabin contains large double berth, book shelf, dresser with multiple drawers and Vanity. To starboard of the companionway there is a hanging locker for Foul Weather gear. At the base of the companionway there is a grated teak floor to collect water and debris.
Moving forward there is the navigators station to starboard. Outboard facing with lockable Navigators Seat. There is plenty of room to work on proper paper charts as well todays electronics. Some of the electronics installed are inoperable as they have been superseded by the new Raymarine C140 on deck. To your right, when seated, is an extensive electrical panel.
Directly across from the Nav Station is the outstanding galley. It is perfect for either offshore cooking or the "at mooring gourmet". A double deep sink is positioned close to the centerline with tremendous storage both under, above and outboard. Outboard there is a Force 10 Stainless Steel three burner, with oven. The Aft portion of the Galley contains the Sea Frost top and bottom loading refrigerator/freezer, microwave and additional storage.
Forward of the galley is the handsome U-shaped salon with bookshelves and cabinets outboard. There is an adjustable height teak dining table. Across from the dinette table is the starboard settee that pulls out to make a double as well as a second Pilot Beth above. Storage abounds in this boat. Every space that can be used, is used. Bookshelves, cabinets and lockers are properly placed. There is storage behind all the seat backs.
Continuing forward of the main salon are hanging lockers to starboard and large head with separate shower stall to port.
As you enter the private V-Berth stateroom you find a very comfortable and complete cabin. Again plenty of storage of all types. Bookshelves, cabinets, drawers and locker. There is plenty of lighting and ventilation ensuring a comfortable night. At the foot of the V-Berth is a teak door allowing access to the chain locker
GalleyThe intelligent design of the galley not only provide all the space a yacht of this size needs for refrigeration, cooking and storage. It also affords a safe environment for preparing meals while sailing offshore.
Examples: A safety bar with cook strap hooks mounted in front of the gimbaled stove. Stainless steel surfaces and overheads surrounding the range. Stainless steel sink is oversized and deep. Proper fiddles on all counter tops. Great ventilation via opening portlights, overhead hatches and a Dorade vent for foul weather ventilation.
