Description

"Kristin" is a fine example of the Ocean Alexander’s 426 Classico, a stylish sedan cruiser from the design board of the highly regarded Ed Monk, Jr. She’s built on a modified-V hull with a shallow prop-protecting keel and a wide beam.

Her galley-up floor-plan includes two staterooms with a center-line queen berth in the owner’s cabin and single berths in the guest stateroom. The head comes with a separate stall shower, and a sliding deck door at the lower helm provides convenient access to the foredeck. The salon dimensions of the 426 Classico are quite generous in spite of the wide side decks. In a departure from most sedan layouts, there’s a second port side deck door abaft the galley
in the salon—a nice touch.

Topside, the extended fly-bridge can accommodate an 11-foot inflatable. Additional features include a full teak interior, radar arch, and a transom door. The 350hp Cats diesels cruise at 17 knots (about 20 knots top).

Manufacturer Vessel Description

Nimble, quick and responsive handling are features of the Ocean Alexander 426 Classicco Sedan. Its floor plan easily handles a large cockpit and lazarette, two navigational stations, covered walkways, two side docking gates, an expansive salon / galley, two staterooms, and one head. This sedan model features a semidisplacement hull with a flat stern section for better speed, but it also provides enough keel for good seakeeping ability, a protected prop, and a no-nonsense spray chine for a dry ride on deck while at full throttle. Her standard galley-up floorplan includes two staterooms with a centerline queen berth in the owner's cabin and single berths in the guest stateroom. The head comes with a separate stall shower, and a sliding deck door at the lower helm provides convenient access to the foredeck. The salon dimensions of the 426 Sedan are quite generous in spite of the wide side decks. In a departure from most sedan layouts, there's a second portside deck door abaft the galley in the salon.

Vessel Walk-Thru

The fully air conditioned interior features Ocean Alexander' s flawless teak joinery and parquet flooring throughout. She also has King "Comfort Guide" electric heaters to warm the cabin on those cold days.

Starting forward is the owner's stateroom with a center-line queen berth with (4) drawers under, overhead ventilation via large deck hatch, additional natural ventilation provided by opening ports, two hanging lockers, additional storage, and a private entry to head aft.

To port aft of the master stateroom is the well thought out guest stateroom with over/under berths at right angles to each other, a hanging locker and drawer storage.

The full head is opposite to starboard and features an Electric Jabsco toilet, and a separate stall shower with folding door.

Opposite the galley is the lower helm with a flip down helm seat, full instrumentation, and a sliding door to the starboard side deck. Aft of the helm is a built in icemaker

The salon is aft. Bright and airy with opening windows and mini blinds and drape coverings. To starboard is a built in U-line ice-maker, an entertainment center with Tambour doors. To port is the built in L-settee with a high-low table that offers a place for dining or cocktails. Between the salon and the galley is a serving counter and a port side sliding side deck door.

Sliding doors aft lead to the big cockpit that features a deep lazarette, flybridge ladder, transom door to the swim platform, and port and starboard opening side deck doors.

Galley

The large U-shaped galley benefits from being forward and has lots of natural lighting. The galley area has large windows for great visibility and natural ventilation. It is indeed an "up galley" and is centrally located in the boat for easy access and entertaining.
