2006 Alerion 28 Express

A handsome example of TPI's popular mid-sized but spirited daysailer. Easy single-handed with a Hoyt self-tacking jib boom but big enough to be enjoyed by more with her 8ft cockpit. Classically dressed in "Flag Blue" Awlgrip with a white boot top and red bottom. Her custom Triad Trailer makes her the perfect package to be enjoyed anywhere this summer. Empty transom awaiting a new name!

Tillotson-Pearson has gained a reputation for high-quality construction, and the craftsmanship of the Alerion-Express maintains that standard. Hull and deck are vacuum-bagged end-grain balsa cover with uni- and bi-directional glass (Tillotson's own formula) and a layer of vinylester resin. Hull and deck are through-bolted and bonded with 3M 5200. Keel is a fin. The rudder is stainless steel stock with Rulon bearings, skinned GRP.

Hull and bulkheads are Herreshoff style: airy white, set off by wood trim and a teak and holly sole. The interior is simple, V-berth forward in the bow, portable head located adjacent to it.
